What exactly does Traffic-Bug do for me?

Traffic-Bug completely automates Social Bookmarking, Directory Submissions, Search Engine Submissions and RSS distribution.

Social Bookmarking.  Social bookmarking is an extremely effective technique for getting new sites indexed faster by Google.  Not only that but the links from social bookmarking sites can generate a nice increase in your sites rankings as well.  To top it all off social bookmarking can be extremely effective at raising your sites natural traffic volumes.

Directory Submission.  Directory Submissions is a technique that has been around for quite some time.  Directory Submissions is a great way to build a large volume of back links back to your site.  A very large portion to SEO is how many back links you have pointing to your site.  Traffic-Bug is one of the very few software’s if not the only one that completely automates Directory Submissions.  There are other software’s out there that can do directory submissions but not like Traffic-Bug.  With Traffic-Bug you can simply set and forget and it will go on and on building you backlinks and even solving the CAPTCHA for you!

RSS distribution.  This is another greatly powerful method to raising your sites rankings and helping get a site indexed as well as slightly improving natural traffic.  RSS aggregators take your RSS URL and display them on their sites.  Not only will this allow a chance for real visitors to follow your link back to your site but it provides link juice and can help with rankings.

Search Engine Submissions.  There are hundreds of search engines on the web and Traffic-Bug ensures that you will be listed on all of them.  Currently the software already does 139 Search Engine submissions.  Even if some search engines aren’t that popular it could still provide you some traffic you might not have received otherwise.

Traffic-Bug has a nice balance of short term and long term.  Social Bookmarking and RSS distribution can greatly help a sites ranking in the short term while Search Engine Submission and Directory Submission can begin to help your site in the long term.

How long does it take to get the full effect of Traffic-Bug?

Traffic-Bug can begin to help you immediately!  Social bookmarking and RSS distribution can help get sites indexed in mere days compared to the industry standard of two-three months!  So there is a huge benefit with Traffic-Bug right from the get go.  However it doesn’t stop there.  Traffic-Bug will slowly begin to build your site lots of natural back links which will help your site over time.

A submission to a directory can take up to two months before it is accepted.  This is not Traffic-Bug’s fault but rather the holdup is the directories themselves.

So you may not see approvals coming in for up to two months after you join Traffic-Bug.  So to hit the full power of the software about 60 days is when it will begin to really shine!

How does Traffic-Bug calculate how much time it saved me?

Traffic-Bug uses very conservative numbers when calculating how much time it has saved you.  We timed 10 different people and it took an average of 3 minutes for them to do each directory submission.  So this is the number Traffic-Bug uses to find how much time it has saved you for directories.  For social bookmarking we did a similar test and found that the average bookmark takes 2 minutes to create.

To calculate the total number of time Traffic-Bug has saved you it adds up both directory submissions and bookmarks.  However, this is a super conservative number, because the majority of people will not be able to make bookmarks or directory submissions at a high volume at this same speed.  To top it off we don’t even factor in RSS distribution or Search Engine Submission’s.

What is the Market Samurai API Key?

This is a new feature and it allows Traffic-Bug members to be able to do promotions from within side Market Samurai.

You will need to own a copy of Market Samurai in order to use this feature.

Once the feature goes live we will be adding training videos inside the “training videos” page.

Also, Market Samurai will have training videos on how to use the API inside their software.

Your API key is unique so don’t give it out!  J

SETTINGS PAGE

What is the Pen Name feature for?

Some people want to hide their true identity when submitting to directories.  A lot of directories require a name when adding a site and Traffic-Bug will use your true name you signed up with.  You can however hide your real name if you so choose by placing a pen name in the settings page.

What Aggression level is right for me and my site?

All of them!  Traffic-Bug puts the customer completely in charge of their aggression levels and risk levels.  When automating any SEO techniques it is very important to make it look natural.

Try mixing things up.  When you are submitting “stupid/lame” URL’s to Traffic-Bug use the “LOW” aggression setting.  When I same lame I am talking about your site map page or your contact us page.

When submitting a new project or new ROOT URL then I would probably use a “HIGH” aggression to really promote your site.  Also if you make any really good posts that you put time into I would also use a “HIGH” aggression.

“Medium” aggression is another great option to vary up the number of bookmarks you will get.  I generally use “Medium” aggression the majority of the time and then switch to “High” aggression if my ranking dropped a bit or I really want to give a single post more exposure.

MANAGE WEBSITES PAGE

What does it mean when it says “IDLE” under the status field?

Currently the Status field represents Social Bookmarking.  RSS Distribution and Search Engine Submissions are nearly instant and this is why we don’t include them in the status.  Also Directory Submissions can go on for a long time so we didn’t want to include this into the Status display.

However Bookmarking is a good indication of how active or idle your site is.  If the software is no longer working on any bookmarks for your URL or Project then it will display Idle.

How come RSS Distribution isn’t displayed on either the Top Box or Bottom Box?

In order to add the RSS Distribution feature to Traffic-Bug in time for our launch we ran against a time crunch and did not have time to add the string of code necessary for us to track the submissions.

However, this is a pretty easy fix and as soon as we re-visit the RSS feature we will be adding this information into the report.

ADD NEW WEBSITE FORM

How long do my titles have to be?

Your titles have to be at least 20 characters.  This is because some directories and social bookmarking sites have required at least this long of a Title.

How long do my descriptions have to be?

Your Descriptions have to be at least 5 characters.  This is because some directories and social bookmarking sites have required at least this long of a Description.

Where are the Titles and descriptions being used?

These Titles and Descriptions are currently being used for all submissions of Traffic-Bug.  This means they will be used for bookmarking sites and directories alike.

ADD NEW URL FORM

When adding a Related URL what is the “New URL to your existing site” for?

This setting is for a “NEW” URL to be posted to your project….A new SUB URL of your existing project.

This is the default setting when you are adding a new URL to your project.  This is to be used when you are inputting a SUB URL.  If your main project was “www.CheeseFun.com” and you were about to add “www.CheeseFun.com/CheesePost1” then this setting will be the appropriate choice for you!

When adding a Related URL what is the “Article” feature for?

The Article feature is to be used for “Article’s”.  A good example would be if you created an Ezine Article and you wanted to promote that Article’s URL using Traffic-Bug you would simply select the “Article” setting.

When adding a Related URL what is the “Video” feature for?

The Video feature is to be used for “Video’s”.  A good example would be if you created a YOUTUBE Video and you wanted to promote that Video’s URL using Traffic-Bug you would simply select the “Video” setting.

How come my “Related URL’s” can’t build back links, do RSS submissions or be submitted to search engines?

This is not some restriction that we put in place to limit you but rather to protect you.  The majority of directories and search engines do not allow for “SUB” URL’s to be submitted.  If you were to submit a SUB URL such as “www.golf.com/blogpost1” to directories…not only would this URL be rejected but you would run the risk of them removing your ROOT URL as well.  Not only that but it is against Directories policies and Traffic-Bug is not a spam software.

RSS Distribution can’t be done on your sub URL because you can only submit a RSS URL once.  Currently Traffic-Bug submits to “Smart” RSS sites that automatically ping your site…so anytime you post a new blog these RSS Aggregators are aware of the new post already.  So there is no reason to bombard them with information they already know.

As Traffic-Bug increases the number of RSS Aggregators we submit to we will design in site pinging on the backend so it still will not be Necessary for you to repost the same RSS URL.

When adding a Related URL what is the “Micro-Site or Related Website” for?

First we will discuss the first part of this “Micro-Site”.  If you build other web 2.0 sites such as Weebly, Hub Pages, Squidoo, etc., and you wanted to use Traffic-Bug to promote these sites then you would simply select this option.  Other Micro Sites can be treated like a new ROOT URL and traffic-Bug will unlock the features at the bottom of the page so that all options can be turned to yes!

For “Related Website” this is if you have another ROOT URL or website that you want associated to your main project.  Let’s say you entered in your www.CheeseFun.com site as the main project, but you also have this other site “www.Cheeseblog.com” that points back to your main cheese site.  With Traffic-Bug you can simply select this option and enter this cheese blog into the related URL’s box so it is associated with your main project yet it still has all the same features available.

To learn more about this we recommend you watch a training video about this feature.

BOOKMARKING FEATURE

How many bookmarks should I expect from the different aggression levels?

There is no exact number because Traffic-Bug has a built in random feature that prevents the same number of bookmarks from being made.  Traffic-Bug is designed to make the bookmarks look as natural as possible and thus there is no set in stone number.  However there is a pretty close estimation we can give you as the baseline.

Low – 100

Medium – 150

High -200

How quickly are bookmarks made?

There is no set number in stone, because Traffic-Bug mixes up the submission times for every single post.  This is in an effort to make the software look as natural as possible.  Generally it will take around two weeks for the bookmarks to be made.

Can I get Traffic-Bug to “GIVE ME MORE BOOKMARKS AND LINKS FASTER?”

No.  Traffic-Bug has been put together with careful thought and testing.  There is no point in boosting up Traffic-Bug to build you 1,000 backlinks in a single day.  If the software did this you would look like a major spam site.  Your links built would most likely be rejected and you greatly increase the risk of Google slapping you and lowering your sites ranking.

We are constantly playing with the submission speeds and numbers every day to try to find the perfect balance and effectiveness.

What does Traffic-Bug do to look like the bookmarks and back links are natural.

A LOT!

First off Traffic-Bug puts you in control of the aggression level for each post which will greatly effect how many bookmarks are made and over what time.

However, that wasn’t enough for us.  We have added thousands of different IP’s and have a complex IP rotation system.  Our software keeps track of how often an IP visits one particular site.  Once the IP has visited a site it won’t visit that site again for a long time.  This helps the bookmarks it makes look natural.

Traffic-Bug also has built in random features.  If you select High Aggression for two different URL’s you will notice one might generate 200 bookmarks while the other one generated 189.  That is because it would look to robotic if the same exact number of bookmarks were generated every time.

For social bookmarking we also use thousands and thousands of various “Fresh” new bookmarking accounts.

One of the last things Traffic-Bug does to help look natural is that it “Spins” your titles, descriptions and keywords.  So one bookmark might have one title while another bookmark will have a completely different title.

What sort of Natural Traffic will Traffic-Bug generate?

There is no set answer to this.

We have seen increases in customers by as much as 75%!  That number isn’t really that typical and it can depend on a lot of factors.

For one, it depends on how popular of a subject you are trying to promote.  If the niche you are trying to promote is about “Carpet” for example then it probably won’t see much of a natural traffic increase.  However if your site was about Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie then you may see a much larger volume of natural traffic generated from the RSS and social bookmarking sites.

The second thing depends on how original your post is.  If you are just copying an old news story and are a week late to promote the story that has already been flooded in the social bookmarking sites then you won’t really see any traffic at all.  However if you are the first one to post about your new special blend of carpet that is made from moon dust then you probably will see a nice massive increase.  J

Lastly it can depend on how exciting or compelling of titles and descriptions you used.  If you used monotone boring titles then nobody will click on your story to even get the chance to follow it back to your website.

Don’t fear though…If you have a niche that just isn’t getting much natural traffic increases  if any in the SB sites that doesn’t mean you aren’t still getting benefit from the link juice.

What sites does Traffic-Bug submit bookmarks to?

A1Webmarks, Bookmark Tracker, Fark, Google Bookmarks, Indian Pad, MyLinkVault, Searchles, Cloudy Tags, White Links, Bookmax, EasyBM, Spurl, DZone, Delicious, Weblinkr, Suptoronto, Backflip, Damnsexy, Kredyty, Mpog, Scuttle, Kredyty, Tagza, Dizzed, Blurpalicious, Bukmark, Simpy, URL Bookmarks, Quadriot, Propeller.

Currently Traffic-Bug submits to 31 Social Bookmarking sites but this number grows and shrinks.  Just recently many social bookmarking sites have closed.  Some just down temporarily while they do maintenance while a few have closed for good.

We are working on unlocking Digg and Stumble Upon and will have those added soon as well as an additional 14 more bookmarking sites online.

Why isn’t my back links showing up in a back link checker?

There are many factors to this.

1) Traffic-Bug’s back link counter only counts when a back link submission is made….NOT when the back link is actually accepted.  Directories that Traffic-Bug submits to are like most directories, they can take up to two months before a link is accepted into the directory.  About 50% of back links can take up to two months, 20% in the first month, 10% nearly immediately, 10% may decline for various reasons and the last 10% may take longer than two months.

2) Back link checker tools are not the most accurate.  There are many back link checking tools on the net and none of them are an exact science.  We recommend you use Yahoo’s free back link checking service but even some of the bigger free tools out there just can’t give you an exact number.  So some of your back links may not be showing but are there.

3) It can take search engines months to re-evaluate incoming links, so if you do a back link check today, there are likely links that are going into your site that haven’t yet been calculated in.

4) If your site is not indexed by Google then back links may not show up.

As you can see there are many factors that make this not an exact science.  However if you are patient you will see them roll in over time.

There are many places on the net to read more about this if you simply do an internet search on the matter.

DIRECTORY SUBMISSION FEATURE

Do I need to read all these directory submission emails?

The simple answer is no you don’t need to read them all.  Approximatley 1 out of 10 directory submissions do require a confirmation though.  When you are looking through all your directory submission emails look at the subject lines and scan for the words “response required” or “activate your submission”.

Why was my URL submitted into the wrong category?

Occassionaly directories screw up and put your site into the wrong category and ocassionnally Traffic-Bug screws up and places your site into the wrong category.  When selecting your category try avoiding using the “Other” category as much as possible.

Here at Traffic-Bug we already do have a “Advanced Smart” category selection feature in the works.  We will be revealing more about this when we get closer to releasing it.

What Directories does Traffic-Bug submit to?

Too many to list.  Currently Traffic-Bug submits to 1,000+ directories.  Once we get our final number of around 1,500 we will submit a form so you can view all the directories we submit to.

Why did a Directory Truncate my URL?

Bookmarking sites and Directories make changes on a regular basis.  Some of these changes they make can affect how our submissions are handled.

Other times the truncation is Traffic-Bug’s fault.

In either case we are working on a more robust submission system that will solve these.  The good news is this is not common and it shouldn’t happen to you!

RSS DISTRIBUTION FEATURE

When adding a Related URL what is the “RSS” feature for?

The RSS feature is to be used for when you want to promote an “RSS FEED”.  Many times this feature will be used by our more advanced customers as they submit things like their Yahoo Pipes URL feed or by creating an RSS feed out of a URL by using something like Feedburner.

How many RSS Aggregators does Traffic-Bug submit to?

Currently we submit to over 12 different RSS aggregators.  We feel this is a good start, but we will be increasing this number by 200% over the next few months as we get our software out of “Beta”.

SEARCH ENGINE SUBMISSION FEATURE

What Search Engines does Traffic-Bug submit to?

Google, Yahoo, Lycos, HotBot, Ask, AOL, Netscape, MSN and Excite to name just a few.  We submit to a total number of 139 search engines.

Will the Traffic-Bug do a search to find me my back links?

The traffic-bug staff is very serious about helping our customers anyway we can.  Unfortunately, due to the high volume of customers right now we can’t spend that much time on every customer finding their backlinks.

However, to better assist you we are developing an entire report system which will give you “On Demand” access to all your bookmarks, directory submissions, RSS distribution, etc.

This will be a print or email friendly report and we should have this feature ready for you in the next 1-2 months

Can Traffic-Bug get my site sandboxed?

It could.  Any automated tool as powerful as Traffic-Bug could get your site in deep waters with Google.  However, this is highly un-likely.  We have run dozens of tests trying to tick off the big search engines and never achieved that goal.

Traffic-Bug does several things to look natural and fly under the radar, but the biggest thing we do to keep you protected is by putting you in control of your site.  Traffic-Bug offers three aggression levels that you can choose for every single post.

A final note:  Traffic-Bug is very very powerful and must be treated as so.  You should only be using Traffic-Bug to promote quality content that is white hat friendly.  Obviously if you are using black hat techniques for your site and then use Traffic-Bug it will only help get you Slapped sooner!

This shouldn’t be a problem because the majority of our users should be producing quality content that is white hat friendly!  After all that is how you truly make money online.

Should I treat new sites and old sites differently?

Not Really.  For newer sites I do try to make more posts on that particular blog and submit those posts to Traffic-Bug on higher aggression levels.  This will allow for the sites to be indexed faster, but for a general rule of thumb you can use Traffic-Bug on new sites and old sites just the same.

As always, it’s about looking natural.  So vary your aggression levels up.

What languages does Traffic-Bug support?

Currently Traffic-Bug only supports English.  Not all bookmarking sites and directories we submit to supports every language so we are beginning to divide up the directories and bookmarking sites so that in the future we can support all the other major languages.

In the mean time it would be best to enter your sites in English as this will still provide link juice.
